Mara Voss is a painter based in the foothills of the Harz Mountains. Her work explores the quiet dignity of overlooked landscapes — riverbanks at dusk, stone walls reclaimed by moss, fields on the edge of winter.
Trained at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts, she works primarily in oil on linen and occasional watercolour, drawn to pigments that carry warmth even in shadow. Her paintings have been shown in galleries across Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands.
She believes the most interesting light happens in the hour before most people are awake.
